Actually, if sinebofy is asking for admissions tips and I told you how my totally unhooked DD got into the “top ivy” then you might just recognize her. I don’t care about myself, but we don’t need kids to be teased about their moms posting on DCUM….

Sure, Jan.

Posters who use misogynistic terms like Karen and Jan to try to shut other women up.

How about Chad, Tad and Brad? They’re available.

“Sure, Jan” is not like calling someone a Karen. It’s simply a response, and can be directed at a man or a woman.

Ok Karen

The holiday posters who are so worried about cooking huge amounts of food for their guests and make others feel bad if they only provide healthy choices for meals

The happiest time of year, family gatherings, gifts and decorations, and yummy frosted Christmas cookies angers them. They want the world to be as empty and bleak as they feel inside. It’s sad.

+1

You summed up the DC area nicely, thank you.

MYOB posters. The posters who think they are the forum police and only think things they find interesting or worthy should be discussed.

I don’t think sending your guests to Burger King or to the gas station is a healthy choice, Burger King Lady!

When a poster asks for advice and the best advice is, actually, to mind one’s own business, what would you like us to say?

“My sister is rich and is putting her kids in private school, and I’m not a parent but I don’t think privates are diverse and real-world enough? What should I tell her?” Or, “My son is 34 and has been dating his girlfriend for 4 years and is going to propose, but I don’t think he’s old enough or has been dating her long enough. What do I say?” Like…the advice is MYOB!

NP. I'd say "OP you should leave it alone, your sister is allowed to make these decisions for herself and her children." Same with son.

I know that people on this board are as a rule rude and care less about being effective than being right, but I don't think saying "MYOB" is all that helpful and is actually a little jarring when that's all the comment says.

But its fine. It's annoying to me but not the worst thing I've seen on DCUM.

They need to come out as a Republican already.

Because there’s no room for them in your party? Because they’re not using the words “dog whistle” enough yet?

Is using the word “dog whistle” better or worse than actual dog whistling?

The people (person?) who can't wait to talk about how much they hate Christmas / holiday cards and throw them straight in the trash. All I can think is that they are the Grinchiest Grinch whose heart is three sizes too small.

The person who mentions cigarettes / tobacco on EVERY post about Richmond. It's so weird.

The Democratic Party holds everyone from actual liberals to so-called "moderates" whose views are pretty typical of 1970s Republicans. It's a much wider spectrum than the Republicans offer.

yeah, she overused the term. It’s old. And getting older.

Because they are transparently not actually Democrats and they are just sh**-stirring. And it's annoying.
