The President retains his clearance and can declassify anything he wants. And did. Publicly stated.

At this point, a huge percentage of the American people do not, and will not, believe anything that's said.

If he had declassified all of it there would be a proper paper trail, and he still couldn’t take them with him because they’re the property of the U.S. Government.

He stated that he was declassifying all of it. Publicly. To the American public. And if that wasn't done, who's fault is that? Legal dragged their feet. They didn't follow through. You best tell Obama he wasn't allowed to take papers because he told a TON of pages

Stop lying. An ex-President cannot declassify anything. Obama went through the proper channels and respected deadlines. Trump didn't do anything so in effect he STOLE federal property, some of it top secret.
IT IS NOT ANYONE'S FAULT EXCEPT TRUMP'S.

They were declassified before he left office.

But they weren't and he was informed that they weren't repeatedly.

Honey, that was just a tweet, not a formal government statement. For those who couldn't figure that out, it was later clarified that he wasn't declassing everything. Or anything.

What is WITH leftist and wanting to demean women? So strange.

Anyhoo, "it was later clarified". Please link to the article where he states he isn't declassifying.

We're having a conversation. Who is being demeaned? You don't want to have a conversation?

You don’t just tweet something saying you’re going to declassify it. There’s a process. If the “best people” in your administration don’t follow up, they’re not declassified. And there’s also a different process that Obama and every other President has followed when legally procuring Presidential records for their libraries. Trump didn’t do any of this.

There is no way these are just any too secret documents. Garland would not risk this hub-bub over nothing - he’s been quiet for two years. He knew this situation would happen the more he pursued these documents over the past couple years. This seems like a like and intentionally public and painstakingly planned move on his part.

No, you get to do your own search for something you know does not exist. Don't come back until you find it!

You stated that 'it was later clarified that he did not declassify'. Can you not produce that?

They already knew they were in his basement in a secure area but asked him to beef up the lock. Nothing stopped them from doing anything then.
I guess we'll know what really went on during those 9 hours because cameras were rolling inside Mar A Largo.

No, he was pushed into it because the subpoena was ignored, and the DOJ had no other recourse. The LAST thing anyone wants to do is FBI search the home of a former President!!!
National security is more important than anything else, and by law they need those docs. Garland's hands are tied. He probably hates every minute of it.

I never stated anything about him declassifying or not declassifying anything because that’s all BS.

And they were never supposed to be in his basement at all. He has gotten kid glove treatment for 18 months while having property that is not his. And his lack of cooperation has stopped them from doing anything until Monday.

I agree! Garland has been completely impartial as has the justice department.

If they were impartial they would have kicked his door in on January 21.
