I have been thinking a lot about tv series from the 80’s and 90’s and would love to stream them but alas I can’t find anywhere.
Series like: Dream on with Brian Benben (?) on HBO SteamBath on Showtime Northern Exposure on CBS which I understand has too many music rights issues. My partner and I visited Roslyn, WA on our honeymoon and spent time in Talkeetna on which the show was based. I would love to watch Not Necessarily the News again on HBO as a time capsule of the news from back then as well as to hear Rich Hall’s Sniglets again! What faces did you have you would watch again? |
| Northern exposure for sure. And music was a good part of it. |
| China Beach |
| Homicide: Life on the Street. |
Absolutely! It’s criminal that it’s not streaming anywhere. |
| Sports Night. It's streaming, but I think you have to pay per episode. |
| The original Beverly Hills 90210. I wish they'd stream it if for no other reason than to give Luke Perry's kids some money and Shannen Doherty some money. |

Complete agreement with "Northern Exposure" and "Homicide."
Also, "Judging Amy." Has deep flaws but some big positives and totally unavailable in any way, streaming, DVD, anything, only available in horrible quality and incomplete on YouTube. Used to show on channels like Hallmark Channel and Pax but no longer there. FYI, there are DVDs of all of "Northern Exposure" you can buy, and they're legit, but I'm told they have different music -- the makers had to swap in different songs due to the music rights issues that have prevented anyone streaming the show or releasing DVDs with the original soundtrack. Huge pity. Would also love to stream (or just get complete DVDs) of "WKRP in Cincinnati." You can get a lot of the series on DVD but not all (as far as I know) and WKRP also had music rights issues like "Northern Exposure" did. |
omg yes. 90210 and Melrose place both. I will say I tried watching Chips on the boomerang channel about a year ago because I loved it as a kid but it was awful to watch as an adult. Very sexist and lots of bias. I’ll keep the memories I have though. |

Omg, John Corbett is married to Bo Derek?!?

Both 90210 and Melrose are available on Paramount+ and Pluto (and the latter service is free!). MP hasn’t aged well but 90210 is often my go-to afternoon background show. |

Due South was a really cute show about a Canadian Mountie. I wish that would stream.
Early Edition with Kyle Chandler. That was a good show. |
I LOVED China Beach and can’t figure out why it was never available at a later date. |
| NYPD Blue |
| My Mother The Car |
