Do most high schools have honor roll?

Anonymous
For the first time ever, my son with Adhd/anxiety has grades good enough to make honor roll. But I don't think his high school recognizes honor roll. Which makes me a bit sad, because it would be a great acknowledgement of his achievement. I see other high schools that post honor rolls online. But not ours. Does this vary school to school? I guess I thought something like this would be a system-wide policy.

Oh I hope he gets recognition, it must have taken a lot of effort. Great job!

All schools have honor roll by policy. Whether or not the schools do any sort of recognition of it is a different thing. MS seems to make a bigger deal out of it, than HS in general.

Yes, and nearly everyone makes it. Because all the children are above average.

MCPS has National Honor Society

Honor roll is kind of a joke here. You can get a C and make the honor roll. I laughed when I heard that. MCPS has incredibly low standards.

That's the same standard I had in high school. Howard County in the 80s. It's not unusual.
