Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin is very close to Putin and one of the few members of his inner circle. Prigozhin owns the Wagner Group which is a mercenary organization sometimes referred to as "Putin's private army". The Wagner Group is involved in heavy fighting in Ukraine and Prigozhin's status is such that he is comfortable publicly criticizing Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Prigozhin has also been accused of running Russian troll farms. Therefore, his recent comments about interfering in US elections are notable:

In comments posted by the press service of his Concord catering firm on Russia's Facebook equivalent VKontakte, Prigozhin said: "We have interfered (in U.S. elections), we are interfering and we will continue to interfere. Carefully, accurately, surgically and in our own way, as we know how to do."

"During our pinpoint operations, we will remove both kidneys and the liver at once," Prigozhin said. He did not elaborate on the cryptic comment.

I just came on here to post about this. Why is this not being shouted from the rooftops? This is unbelievable.

Didn’t we know this? Wasn’t this originally confirmed back when Trump was in office?

Yes, but to have someone actually admit it is unbelievable.

Because they're supporting the good guys. It's the same reason no one cares about AIPAC.

Americans don't want to believe that we are susceptible to this type of influence operation.

I feel pretty certain that almost everything we've seen for the last seven-ish years is foreign influenced. I don't believe Trump is a witting or active player, but that he, his family, and his business/political organization have been turned against the US by foreign actors and with the knowing or unknowing help of US citizens.

Yes and then Trump’s DOJ dropped all the charges against him and the rest of the IRA.

OMG, I'm sure that's why Trump won. I bet they will be behind any red wave.

I work in cybersecurity for the government. Russia is a constant threat! We found evidence of them trying to hack into our system on Friday. I saw them in action during the 2020 election. It was shocking the misinformation that came across my desk at work, only to go home and log into FB and find some FB friends resharing Russian misinformation! I find it deeply offensive when the GOP politicians side with them.

There was an article out in the NYT yesterday saying that Russia had again fired up their trolls and bots for the mid-terms.

So he says this the day before the midterms. Doesn't matter whether or not it's true, he's now given ammunition to whichever side loses tomorrow to argue the election was rigged.

And there's your evidence that Russia interferes in our elections.

I guess it doesn’t seem so shocking to me that they’d admit it openly as they’ve obliquely admitted it multiple time.

The bigger shock to me is that the GOP is openly accepting the help with zero political repercussions.

Question: Why do you so fervently believe the words of a person from a regime that constantly traffics in disinformation and propaganda?

Seems to me, they see the red wave and want to start riots here

Or they see a red wave and want the GOP to pay up for assistance given.
