I hate that it's my top concern but the last 2 years have worn me down. I want the carjacking to stop, the guns off the street. I want people to actually serve time for their crimes.
Who should I vote for? Does it even matter? |
| Sadly, I have no faith any of the candidates have a plan to meaningfully address crime. |
| Me too. |
| You want to reduce crime? Or you want a harsh crackdown to make you feel like you got revenge? |
| If you live in Ward 3 vote for Krucoff and Bonds for at-large. |
| I gave up and moved. Life is too short. |
McLaughlin for At Large. Bullet vote just him. Bonds, McDuffie, and Silverman have all failed to provide oversight and tell they Mayor no on things to get her to address crime. MPD is a disaster - they have hurt feelings from the George Floyd protests and hide in their precinct houses. The police alternative programs need oversight, too. |
| Vote with your feet and leave DC. Bowser doesn't care about crime, she only cares about that sweet sweet developer $$. |
+1 |
| Let me guess, you lived on Capitol Hill. |
No I live in Shaw |
| I also live in Shaw and want to vote on crime alone. It is bad here. Worse than I’ve seen it in 20 years. The amount of suppression of information is pretty crazy too. I have many friends who have been discouraged from filing police reports. We are scared. |
| Well, then don't vote for Silverman. She's about as soft on crime as they come. |
FWIW, that has been a problem for as long as I've been in DC. "Are you sure it was stolen and not just misplaced?". Gah. |
Yup- Bonds, McDuffie and Silverman are current council members so I would not expect anything more than the status quo from them (even though they have pretty different positions on crime, I don't feel like continuing to elect the same people and expecting different results is particularly effective). I voted for Marshall because he seems to have a better finger on the pulse EOTR than all the others. |
