Did this go out to all schools?
Dear Parent or Guardian: In cooperation with the Fairfax County Health Department, we are sending this health information letter to inform you that several cases of influenza-like illness have been reported in our school. Children with influenza-like illness have cough and congestion, and may have fever, chills, sore throat, headache, body aches, and feeling tired (fatigue). Illness may be caused by the influenza virus or by other types of viruses. Then it talked about washing hands yadda yadda. |
I have three kids in three different schools and we did not receive this. What is the school OP? |
| RCMS |
| Not OP but I just got the email this afternoon. Carson. |
| My child's school, Rocky Run, had a lot of kids out last week with illness and we didn't get a letter. So it must be a LOT. |

This is a form letter of sorts sent out when there’s been a cluster of absences that investigation/follow up phone calls confirm. So, no this letter is school specific based upon absences reported.
This is why you are to disclose symptoms any time you call on to the attendance line. The reasons are entered into a database/SIS and each school monitored daily by the health department. |
| No masks! Schools open always! Flu is just a cold! My child needs to smile!! |
Are you already drunk? |
| What is RCMS? Why can't you just put down the name of the school? There are hundreds of schools in FCPS. |
Yes I am. To be able to deal with the OpenFCPS crowd in pre-election mode. Ugh. |
What are you talking about? OpenFCPS? FCPS is open. |
My school has the flu and stomach flu in many classrooms. |
Read the entire thread before you comment. The person directly below them said Carson. |
| Not all schools. But some schools have many flu or stomach bug type cases. |
| We got this at Laurel Ridge ES this week. |
