Title says it all. I'll start...
When a publisher changes the size/style of the covers for books a series midway through. It doesn't affect the story, obviously, but it looks weird on my shelf. ![]() |
Changing the cover after the movie or TV show comes out. Hate that. |
That non-removable “Now a Netflix show!” sticker. |
Changing a narrator part of the way through a series. |
I found it disconcerting after Gone Girl that every single book had Girl in the title
Girl on a Train Girl in the window etc etc |
On a few occasions, I’ve found ebooks priced higher than their traditional book formats. Considering they don’t have to pay for consumables like paper, ink, glue, etc., and don’t have shipping costs, this seems unreasonable. It’s bad enough to charge an equal amount, but I can accept publishers want to set a minimal baseline (although I won’t buy the book). To ask a higher price for a less expensive option, seems like completely unjustifiable greed. |
I hated when original kindles made it it look like you had a lot of book left and then it suddenly wraps up and you have random chapters of other books |
My kindle (which is admittedly old) does that and I hate it! |
I miss the really small paperback sizes that used to exist like 30 years ago. Yes, the size does exist, but most of the books are in the big book size now. |
Deckle edge. What for? Why? Who likes this? It makes for a rough feel against my fingers, makes turning one page a lot harder and forget flipping through if you’re trying to find something. |
I like it. I like the way it looks irregular and more organic, and I like the way it feels. I think it’s easier to turn the pages with deckle edges. |
Yes this! |
I like my books pristine. When I order new books and one arrives with some dings and scuffs on the edges or elsewhere I feel disappointed. It's usually not bad enough to justify returning but I will call and let them know.
Also if I'm shopping in person, really want a particular book, and the only copy there is marked. |
Me too!!! They were the size of a hand. |
I loooove books that have this. |
