Hello DCUMs, here are The Washington Monthly annual ranking of top US colleges. I like the methodology.
1) Stanford 2) Penn 3) MIT 4) Princeton 5) Duke 6) Harvard 7) Yale 8) Cornell 9) University of California Berkeley 10) Notre Dame 11) University of California Davis 12) Dartmouth 13) Brigham Young (UT) 14) California Institute of Tech 15) Georgetown 16) University of Wisconsin 17) University of Illinois 18) National Louis University (IL) 19) University of Washington 20) University of California San Diego What are everybody’s thoughts on this list? Spot on or missed the mark? I felt this is extremely appropriate given it is technically a local (DC) publication even if it is nationally distributed. [Edit by Admin: The original post mistakenly attributed this list to The Washingtonian rather than the Washington Monthly. The title and text of this post have been updated to correct the error. ] |
| PS: I got this link from a response to one of the other posts. |
Washington Monthly and the Washingtonian are different. |
Thank you. I did not catch that. 😊 |
| Literally no one cares about this ranking. Completely bogus |
| I’m surprised Johns Hopkins is not within the top 20. |
|
National Louis University?
*head scratcher* |
| This ranking does not make the top 30. |
| This is nothing more than a scam ad for National Louis University--which was originally named Miss Harrison's training School. |
| What is the rank criteria, op? |
| Any similar rankings for LACs? |
| UC Davis listed higher than UCSD, Santa Barbara and UCLA alone makes this a total head scratcher. Not even touching anything else. |
Here is the methodology. https://washingtonmonthly.com/2022/08/28/a-note-on-methodology-4-year-colleges-and-universities-13/ |
| UVA is not on the list, so it's obviously a piece of crap. |
