Great British Baking Show 2022

Anyone watching? I found Mexican week incredibly dicey but have otherwise enjoyed it. A lot of what they make are ridiculous and don't look appealing to me, but sometimes I'm inspired. I also sometimes feel like making a pavlova or a floating island after watching even if I'm not sure they'd taste good.

This season I really like Sandro and Syabira and think one of them will win, but my sentimental favorite (who I also think is a great baker) is Janusz, who is also my DD's favorite. He just has really wonderful energy. Also like Maxy and Abdul though I think they'll be the next two to go.

The ice cream cones this week looked delicious (or at least Sandro's did, no one else's ice cream set up properly). The flavors sounded wonderful together.

I do enjoy the energy of the show. They laugh a lot together, and meanness is not celebrated.

The reaction on Twitter to Mexican week was a hoot. The s’mores were almost as bad. I can overlook the digestive biscuits since graham crackers are not a thing there, but Paul really did criticize one of the bakers because his marshmallows were melted.

It’s not my favorite season — except for Sandro. I would give Sandro his own baking show. The cake he made on yesterday’s episode was unreal.

Matt Lucas is a British comedy gem. When has there been any nastiness? I think maybe the US audience is not getting his quirky humor...
