| So the nazis tagged the bridge just past park police. This is where we are as a country? |
|
Yes. yes it is.
Fight and vote. That is where we are now. |
+1 The GOP is going to keep gaslighting us, but yes, this is where the country is. |
| How about DC and the Park Service remove ALL of the graffiti vandalism NOW? The situation in the park is beyond terrible. It never used to be like tihis. Who thinks it’s a good idea that DC should resemble NYC in the early Eighties? |
| Where is this? Does anybody have a picture? |
|
"it never used to be like this"
Uh, yes it had. I have lived here for 50 years. |
They always cleaned it up. Now they don’t and it begets more vandalism. Before NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani went batshit crazy, he was right under the broken window theory to jump on quality of life crimes before the situation got worse. About 5 years ago they just started letting RCP go. It’s very sad. |
| Picture? |
Before? |
He was a sane badass when he first took office. I wish DC would take a page from his earliest years playbook and gift almost all the homeless to cities across the river. In one fell swoop. Looking at you, Bethesda. . |
Before then, graffiti on the RCP bridges and stonework was usually removed within a couple of weeks. Now it seems they just let it go. Just like the Metro l, our parks are being trashed on the altar of wokeness and tolerance for lawlessness. |
| Graffiti is vandalism so why would anyone think of it as patriotic? |
Graffiti is now considered valuable art. |
“Sane badass”? Sure — if you consider being racist “sane”. And his wives and daughter might have some interesting things to say about how “badass” he was and is. ….”gift all the homeless to cities across the river” sounds like something a gentrifier would say. You can clean graffiti and focus on quality of life issues for EVERYONE without being a racist prick. |
| Worth remembering as we complain about whatever is going on that policing Rock Creek Park is up to the feds, not D.C. |
