How about DC and the Park Service remove ALL of the graffiti vandalism NOW? The situation in the park is beyond terrible. It never used to be like tihis. Who thinks it’s a good idea that DC should resemble NYC in the early Eighties?

They always cleaned it up. Now they don’t and it begets more vandalism. Before NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani went batshit crazy, he was right under the broken window theory to jump on quality of life crimes before the situation got worse. About 5 years ago they just started letting RCP go. It’s very sad.

He was a sane badass when he first took office. I wish DC would take a page from his earliest years playbook and gift almost all the homeless to cities across the river. In one fell swoop.

Before then, graffiti on the RCP bridges and stonework was usually removed within a couple of weeks. Now it seems they just let it go. Just like the Metro l, our parks are being trashed on the altar of wokeness and tolerance for lawlessness.
