| What would you put into a "Welcome to Maryland" care package? I'm thinking food but also open to non food. From old bay to a Kennedy Center membership. Simple, silly, or extravagant. Coming from the north east. |
| Tell us more about the recipient, and we can marylandize their interests for ya |
| Where in Maryland? Anything old bay flavored, crab mallets, an ez pass transponder, ravens or orioles stuff, something with the crazy flag print on it |
| Op here, open to anything. Family of 4 from NYC, late ES age kids. Snacks would be ideal which is why I posted in food that so I'm not giving too much "stuff", but some stuff is fine just for fun. |
You will need a Maryland flag crab-shaped bumper sticker at the very least. |
| Add a pack of Berger cookies too. |
| Tin of Old Bay, Orioles/Ravens shirts for the kids, Berger cookies, something with the MD flag on it, Zeke’s coffee, bottle of wine from a local vineyard or a six pack of something like Heavy Seas |
| I’ve been living in MD for the last 18 years, but I still find the MD flag extremely ugly. Is it sacrilege to be a Marylander and still find it a complete eyesore? |
Anything old bay. Actual old bay, utz Potato chips with old Bay, natty bohs, mallets, crab legs knives, Smith Island cake, |
Get thee out of this state!
|
| They make Old Bay vodka. Goes well in a bloody mary. |

We did Maryland-themed goodie bags for guests staying in the hotel for our wedding. Here is what we included:
- Old Bay (duh!) - Crab flavored potato chips (I think Utz brand, IIRC?) - Utz potato chips - Otterbein's Bakery chocolate chip cookies - Recipe card for Smith Island cake |
| If they have elem kids I would get a science ctr membership, or Baltimore zoo membership. Assuming they’re not going to be living more than about 30 mins from Baltimore. |
| Ooh, these are all good, thanks! Keep em coming! Some I've never had or heard of (been here about 9 years). |
|
Tin of Old Bay, Berger cookies and crab chips are MUST HAVES!
Fishers popcorn (sold at many grocery stores now) Gift card for a good ice cream shop (Sarah’s Handmade is our favorite) Also love the idea of a smith island cake recipe. |
