Anyone else excited that the 2022 election season is almost over?

To be honest, I get kinda excited every election season especially since moving to the DMV. I get a sense of closure after all the prognosticating. The will they or won’t they question about this election cycle is answered and there are new paths to consider.

I dread elections after 1/6.

I guess people of all stripes are quaking in their boots this election cycle? Or rather, no one is confident about the results — which would be fair, because things do seem pretty tight.

The ads. Please. Make them stop.

This.

Before I moved here, I came here for work every fall/winter and remember thinking this area has more TV ads than anywhere else I'd been. That was in the early 2000s. I remember checking to see who won the VA governor race when Warner and then Kaine won because I almost felt invested after watching all those ads.

Republican House, unfortunately. NOT looking forward to it.

Hoping for a Democrat Senate.

And please, let's not repeat the 2020 Presidential candidacies.

Yes. We get to see if we still have a democracy and/ or if the election deniers cause people to kill.

How banal. Elections aren’t a spectator sport. If you’re excited go canvass or phone bank. Better yet make sure people are registered and volunteer for GOTV.

Thank you! Contrary to what many people think, politics isn’t a game. It has real life consequences.

It is one of the pentultimate games bc it has real life implications. They are milestones. They determine what sh!t will get done.

So, democrats win = democracy, and republicans win = end of democracy?

A little inconsistent, isn’t it?

Nope because this is just the prelude. There's not going to be a break until January 2025.

Who would kill who?

It’s like the worst “will they won’t they” reality TV ever.
Except instead of just being phony and staged, people vote for republicans and we watch the potentially fatal eroding of democracy.

No.

People who are elected actually win, no matter what the party.

And people who say they have "won" when they had the lowest amount of votes (election deniers) lose. Like Trump did in 2020.
