I need a perfect pair of black pants

Any recommendations? They need to be on the lighter-weight side as I’ll be wearing them in moderate temperatures. Something I can try on in-person in preferable. I will be wearing them to fun events, dinners outs etc. Budget - under $150.

I hate to say it, but your budget is too low. Try Massimo Dutti. They have beautiful clothes and are very reasonable. They still have a store in Georgetown, but also have a lot on their website.

Seriously?

Budget is fine, omg not everyone can afford $300 pants, nor are they any better than a sub 150 pair.

How old are you? Unfortunately, this matter I would give a different recommendation for someone in their 20s versus 50s. General body shape could help too- athletic, apple, pear, etc..

This is not necessarily true. I bought a beautiful pair of Armani trousers in 2009. They were $350. I put them on a credit card and absolutely could not afford them. Guess what, I still wear them and they are still beautiful. Worth every penny.

A lot of people like Spanx pants. They are in the right price range and are the right weight for what you are talking about.

I’m 44, and I’m not spending $300 on black pants. I’m petite, proportional, strong but not skinny. 140lbs

Appreciate your best recs!

I have a pair of pants that I bought in Charlotte russe for $20 in 2000, 22 years later they still look great on me.

Hmm, thanks this is a decent idea.

I have these in black and tan, and they are fantastic. I love everything about the length, cut, color, and fit. Well worth the price particularly, if you can catch them on sale.

OP here, I’m not familiar with this brand, but looked through its website. Good suggestion, thank you! I do prefer something I can try on, but I agree, the clothes look beautiful.

Marine Layer's Allison pant comes in petite length. The fabric is lightweight and travels well (tencel/recycled polyester/spandex blend). It's a pull-on pant with a slightly tapered leg and little tulip detail at the hem, so it drapes nicely. You can dress them up or down. I wore them on a recent trip to LA for casual work meetings, dinners with friends, and to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert.
