If you're pro-housing in MoCo, do you vote for Elrich or leave it blank

Anonymous
If you are pro-housing, pro-Thrive, pro-YIMBY and you live in Montgomery County, what do you do on the ballot for the County Executive candidates?

I was a Not Marc Elrich voter. I voted Blair even though I preferred Riemer as my first choice. I don't like Elrich because he doesn't want to do anything about single family zoning and he opposes Thrive, and even if he himself isn't racist, he aligns with racists and conservatives who don't want to see changes in their neighborhoods.

But Reardon Sullivan is also anti-Thrive, doesn't care about the affordable housing crisis and is worse on housing than Elrich, and it would be embarrassing to have a Republican elected in MoCo.

I don't want to vote for Elrich because I don't want to endorse him or say anything favorable because he is so bad on housing. I am inclined to leave it blank, but if the Republican has any chance of coming close to winning, then I will hold my nose and vote for Elrich.

What is your position on Thrive?

Sully.

I am voting Republican on several tickets this year.

The corruption is rapidly becoming apparent to the public now. Diversity of thought is crucial. Or the corruption and incompetence will continue unabated.

I have a question about this because I am considering voting for Reardon. Elrich winning anyway.

I can no longer find that on his website but I thought he had some questionable positions which made me hesitate.

None of you are answering my question which is what PRO-HOUSING people are voting for. If you are voting for Sully or any Republican, or if you have no problem with Elrich, then you are not pro-housing.

The way you are associating racism with those who oppose Thrive is exactly why Elrich won the primary. A huge number of people have concerns about Thrive that have nothing to do with race. The way Thrive supporters tossed around charges of racism grew Elrich’s base without growing support for Thrive.

As for the general election, you clearly seem to agree with Elrich more than Sullivan. It seems like you are too self-righteous to make the rational for you decision to vote for him.

I think you’ve answered your own question because there’s no real other choice. Ehrlich is going to win no matter how many people vote for Sullivan. I suppose you could leave it blank.

Elrich is better than Sully by your own assessment so vote for Elrich. Don’t do this purity test or comparison to some mythical candidate or sit it out. That’s exactly how we got Trump.

I will still vote for Elrich this year, as I am not a one issue voter.
