Recommendation for physical therapist (or trainer) who has experience with clients with loose joints

Anonymous
My PT always comments on my ligamentous laxity. I am currently not injured and am trying to build muscle through strength training. My understanding was the best way to do this is to lift heavy; (I’m using dumbbells, 15 pounds heaviest so not that heavy, but I’m just starting out!), but am worried that this isn’t a good approach given my joints. Advice welcome, particularly if there is a recommendation for somebody who has experience in this area. I’m located in Rockville/Bethesda area.

I don't know if they have any experience in what you are referring to, but I have been to Rebound PT in Rockville for different reasons. I tried a different PT on the advice of my PCP, and they made my condition worse. So, I went back to Rebound, and it's helped. Lovely people there.

Hello I would be happy to help. I am the owner of prepare for performance in Rockville. I work with a lot of people who have "hypermobility". A lot of it comes down to build stability in the joints and strength in the muscle so you body can handle your daily activities. Do you have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome?
