Are there normal folks at core power yoga?

Anonymous
I’m not new to yoga but I am looking for a new studio. The place with the best hours/schedule is a nearby core power yoga.
I know it’s a hot yoga experience which immediately reminds me of Bikraham- lots of yelling, pushing past people’s edges, competition ect.
Does for power have the same kind of culty vibe or do regular/normal people go?

Normal people. The heat is intense though.

Totally normal! I’m not a yogi at all and find it great.

I went pre-COVID but many normal folks....including me. I really loved it honestly.

I think it's pretty good. It's definitely a more athletic style, but if you like that, you'll appreciate it. I don't think there's any philosophy woven in. (I like a little philosophy, but also like a good workout.)

I've done hot yoga and there was no yelling or competing. Sure, there were attendees who clearly were more advanced than others but there was little noise or interaction with others (except the instructor) during the class. I meant it can be a challenging workout and everyone was focused on themselves. Maybe you just need to try out other similar studios.

What do you mean by normal? If it is minimal-moderate athletic and overweight- then yes. This is what compose most exercise classes.

If you are in Bethesda I HIGHLY recommend you try Soulfire instead. Best yoga I have ever had.

Is Soulfire better for veterans of yoga? I'm a newbie but want to try!

Yuppers! My kind of folks!
I’m fine with super fit too! I just want a class that’s accessible to non super yogis.

All classes are all levels. Some beginners, some crazy stretchy people who can stand on their ear. I have been practicing for a long time but I am pretty mediocre. And I feel totally, 100% comfortable. The teachers are great at giving lots of cues to ratchet it up or slow down - and give great pointers if you want to grow.
