is there a benefit to to doing Peloton's banded exercises over weights?

I'm a Peloton app user and regularly do Pilates and weight training classes. I have noticed the banded classes and wonder if there's a benefit to doing those, because I'd have to invest in a set of bands with handles. In reading someone's review of these classes, they say they're for older people or for when you might need a day of rest with weight training. I do have a set of leg/glute bands, so am familiar with benefit of those types of bands for clamshells and other leg and glute strengthening. I'm also wondering if they are not robust enough for the Hard Core on the Floor program since I don't see them used in the mix. Stick with weights or add these in?

I did them for a while when I was injured, so, no I don't think they are for someone that is fit/wants heavier weights.

She does put them on the calendar sometimes - not very often but on the Friday lighter leg days sometimes there will be a HC resistance band workout instead of something with weights. I think it's nice for a change of pace sometimes. But mostly I like doing them so I have an easy "weight training" option when traveling, instead of hauling weights or sticking to bodyweight only.

They’re great for exercising while traveling.
