| My MCPS elementary and middle schoolers don't tend to get super sick or get sick super often, but we seem to be on the 3rd illness between the 2 of them in 2 weeks. (So far, no positive Covid tests, though may test again tomorrow.) How is everyone else doing? Is there just a lot going around in schools right now? Younger kid has had a sore throat for a while, but tested negative for Covid and strep for example. Older kid had some acute GI bug and now seems to have whatever younger kid just had. |
Wear a mask? |
| None. But my teens wear kn95s to school. |
| None, and we don't mask. |
| None and no masks. |
| None and no masks, but if it bothered me, I would make them wear masks and I would wear one myself (teacher). I'm probably going to wear it in November/December |
| None. No masks. |
| Two kids who rarely get sick each have both gotten sick once with the sore throat thing (not covid, not strep). It was only for one day for both of them. They still have lingering congestion, sniffles, but are feeling good and yes, I’m sending them to school because they never had fevers and they feel good. |
| None. I thought one was getting sick earlier this week but it was just the start of her fall allergies. |
| My kid is sick now. He's probably one of the only students in his HS who wears a mask, too. He has some flu virus that started on Tuesday night. |
| My three elementary kids have all had minor colds since starting; knock wood, they seem to be waning. Not COVID and no masks, but it’s annoying, nonetheless. |
Just Covid
|
|
Both sick, one covid
.happens at the start of every year with some form of illness |
| Our first round of Covid and one cold so far. |
| My DD has missed days this week. Went to the DR who diagnosed a sinus infection and is on antibiotics but missed the homecoming football game and looks unlikely for tonight's dance. A home Covid test was negative but I'm trying to get her to go for a PCR test. We missed a college tour this morning too. |
