Haven't many of the incidents been against Asian-American athletes? Couldn't they find a single Asian-American looking athlete to participate in this video?

People from India are Asian FYI. In related news they say this behavior won't be tolerated but we all know it totally will. They won't do anything with teeth.

The South Asian athletes haven't been targeted in the incidents we've heard about. It's the East Asian athletes. Have you heard about other issues?

I feel clueless about this. What targeting has happened recently, in particular to East Asian Athlete? Was there some incidents I missed reading about in the news?

I thought it was just addressing overall bad behavior. Nothing specific about Asian Americans.

But if you want to be picky, I didn’t see any Hispanic kids on that video either.

It's the "Student Athlete Leadership Council" not just random athletes.

They could have picked kids that can read….

There are several kids who might be a variety of ethnicities which is exactly why trying to label people is stupid.

Please let us know what athletic events have has Asian American kids targeted?
This video is a response to the football game NW vs Gaithersburg last week. The parties involved were not Asian Americans, including the coaches or athletic directors.

As a side note, what annoys me about the video is 1. It's another survey instead of any real changes and 2. How we can make "more safe" instead of just "safer." Just irritated me.

On another note. The "changes" they did implement don't make much sense.
They have barred students from other schools which shows a true lack of understanding about how moco works.
Your student might be in a special program for engineering but has friends at their home school. Too bad, no longer allowed to go watch your friends play.
Your girlfriend / boyfriend might go to a neighboring school. Too bad, no longer allowed to go watch a game.
You may go to private school. No longer allowed to go watch friends play.
Its really punishing the student athletes who have done nothing wrong while failing to address the real issue. The game last week started not with visiting spectators but with players and coaches.
In the end, any "bad apples" will still walk right in to the stands because they just need "an adult" which isn't defined further.

It was a scramble to look like they were doing "something " but what they did was nothing except penalize the innocent.

I’m so happy to see someone else thinking all the same thoughts I had. MCPS has a policy to not punish the whole for the actions of a few. This is doing exactly that. What about the kids who actually were the problem?? What’s their punishment? They still get to play but can’t play one game? Big deal. It’s messed up.

That is what MCPS loves to do, with its hyper-focus on race and ethnicity.

I didn't realize this happened. No wonder there was no one at a game last night. It's a shame for the athletes.
