| We both love Angelina but not sure if it’s still going to be associated with the celebrity. Thoughts? |
| No, it is not safe. Yes, it will still be associated with the celebrity. Only use this if it's a name that has some direct personal significance to you or your spouse. Otherwise, you can probably find other names that you will like just as much without the celebrity association. |
| Go ahead use it. It's a great name. I always think of Angelina Ballerina. |
| Angeline is another option. |
| The association is there but I don't think it's disqualifying. It's not Adolf. |
| It’s safe. By the time she’s an adult Angelina Jolie will be a forgotten older actress. |
| How about Angelica |
| Yes, love this name. Unless they someone look like her, I don't think people would reallythink of her. |
| ^somehow |
Morticia Addams? |
It’s an honor name after a late family member. I never hear it anymore which is a shame because it’s so pretty. |

Angelina is a perfectly normal name. Most people aren't that interested in celebrities that their minds immediately go to a famous actress.
But if they do... the celebrity you are thinking of is a respected person who has been Goodwill Ambassador then Special Envoy to the United Nations High Council for Refugees since 2001. As celebrities go, she has used her profile for much good, helping the most vulnerable children around the planet. She has shown remarkable consistency on that issue. This isn't a quick brownie points PR stunt for her. If any hateful people continue to be fixated on her role as the "other woman", then I hope they also hate all the men and women they've heard of for sleeping with married people. |
| I honestly almost don’t associate the name Angelina by itself with Angelina Jolie. I don’t know how to explain this but she’s not an Angelina to me…she’s Angelina Jolie. Like right now thinking about it it’s weird that her name is Angelina. |
| I think it's "safe" to use but don't like it. I also think of Angelina Ballerina but that makes it sound twee and silly to me. Plus I really can't stand Angie as a nickname. So inelegant. Sounds like angina. Just awful all around. |
+1 Kids her age will not care. You just have to ward off the people your age when you tell them the name. Just don't share the name until baby is born. |
