| Does anyone know what caused the huge police reaction at the White House today? I’ve lived within a few blocks for 30 years and never saw anything like it. |
| I have guests in from out of town and was down there yesterday and was stunned. The only thing I could think of was threats from folks angry about TFG and his stolen classified documents. But yes, never seen anything like that |
| what happened? |
| my interest is piqued! I looked at reddit/washington dc and didn't see anything mentioned. |
| So what was up? |
| Bet it was second unit film shoot since it didn’t make news…see any Washington Source vans? (Lighting trucks) |
| OP here. Horseback cops told us it was a crime scene and clearly didn’t know what it was. |
Definitely not. It was extremely real and activated more cops of different types than I have ever seen together. |
| I miss the days when I could walk by with my two young kids to see the WH through just one fence and spend long minutes there without any kind of issues. There used to be a funny squirrel greeting visitors. |
I still do this most days. Why can’t you? |
Maybe the squirrel left |
| Could it have been a drill for preparation for a potential event which would need collaboration across:agencies? |
|
President Biden was making a trip up to the British Embassy to sign the condolence book for the Queen.
When the president leaves the WH it requires dozens of police vehicles to secure the route. As we saw with the insurrection, DC is a very dangerous place, and the president needs to be protected. |
Or died |
You must be new here. This protection hasn't changed and is quite normal. |
