Best Crab Cake in/near DC?

I'm coming to visit soon and I want a crabcake or two. I know Baltimore has the best, but I won't be able to make it there. All suggestions welcome!

Clydes does a solid broiled crab cake. Multiple locations in DC proper.

The Quarterdeck in Arlington is the closest Eastern Shore style crab house to DC.

The ones at Old Ebbitt are terrific and that restaurant is a DC institution that any DC visitor should go to once. A block from the WH.

Old Ebbitt and Clyde’s are exactly the same—but if you are a visitor to DC Old Ebbitt is more of a destination.

Chiming in to agree with the recommendation of Old Ebbitt Grill and Clydes for great crab cakes.

Now, if you're asking about the best Cream of Crab Soup, then that would be the Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) and the only way you can dine there is if you are a member or a guest of a member. If you ever have the opportunity, then definitely order the soup!

This is the PP who suggested Old Ebbitt and totally agree with this too. CRab cakes at the Market Lunch are also a uniquely DC experience. Another can’t miss for visitors.
