Wouldn't worry a lot about whether your DD makes it or not, as it does not have much, if any, impact over the longer term with actually important things like getting into showcases like Best in Class, Juniors Open, or American Select in future years.

I disagree. If your DD can't make MD Select, that doesn't bode well for BIC and Juniors. Probably time to start worrying.

I would have agreed with this statement yesterday but after seeing the roster and knowing who made it without attending tryouts I have a better sense of how this played out and it doesn’t have much to do with actual lacrosse playing

This for 2030 age group too? My daughter did not make it, but a few of the girls that did make it were very good players.

The vast majority of the girls are top players from top teams. There are a couple of clear misses on cuts and 1-2 who didn’t tryout who many don’t seem to know. I’d assume like everything there’s some politics, but it’s really 2-4 spots at the bottom of the roster in most cases.

Heros - 8
MDU - 4
M&D - 2
BLC -2
Skywalkers - 2
Hoco -1
Renegades - 1
STJ - 1
True Belles - 1

And these numbers are off btw. Best wait till final roster are published

Heros did have the most amount of girls trying out. Looks like they tried to take at least 1 player from the other clubs that were there.

Were there any Hero's girls that tried out who didn't make it?

Yes it looks like 3-4 didn’t make it

How many girls made the team that were not at tryouts?

At least 3 including the goalie

I get making the team if numbers were low, but there were over 60 girls at tryouts and they took kids who weren't there?

So much misinformation with you 2030 parents. 1 person made the team that was not at the tryout and said person was a goalie.

My dd is a field player but weren’t there around 7 goalies at the tryout? The hero’s and BLC goalies weren’t as good as this one who didn’t come to the tryouts?

These girls are going to be graduating high school in just 5 1/2 years, and they might as well learn how the world works now before it smacks them in the face.

Exactly, these things are much more political than merit based. Time for everyone to start positioning themselves for the next tryout.

I didn’t think M&D kids usually play on this. Although it sounds like they don’t usually get this many top girls in general. Are these two M&D girls top players from their roster?

I wouldn’t say 1 goalie and then two players coming from the top team in the country is “more political than merit based”

M&D will not be the top team in the country for much longer
