I know a few of my friends that moved to Florida, and only one of them are Republicans, is this an outliers? Are more Republican's moving to Florida than Dems?

The ones I know are COLD, ELDERLY, left-leaning people who are desperate for no ice in winter on which they could slip, fall and die. They want warmth year round, and their sensitive skin likes humidity. They don't care about climate change because they know they don't have long to live. They don't care about abortion or other right-wing policies because they're not going to get pregnant. Age makes them self-centered.

I know a couple who moved there during covid and thought they'd stay permanently. But they've now moved back to NYC. They decided that Florida was better for visiting than living permanently.

I know a Catholic rich family that moved there over a year ago. I think the husband got a promotion that moved them all down there. Money seems to be their main interest.

Then I know a married gay man who moved down there, I think for the climate.

I know a young liberal person who moved there for their job. They’ve been there since 2020 and every week they tell me how stupid the people in FL are.

Your young liberal friend is now one of the people in Florida...or is your friend not aware of that fact?

I know one family that moved back to Florida, but they were from there originally so I don’t know that that counts.

I know a baby boomer couple that moved there for the heat, but they’re two reliably Democratic voters.

They consider themselves a transplant and only hang out with relocated Northeasterners.

They can vote now in Florida. Maybe it’s good to have some left-leaning voters move there.

One same-sex couple I know well moved there to retire and run a small business. They’re now moving back North due to the Florida’s political direction.

Another family I know well moved there a couple of years ago. They homeschool their children, reject vaccines, and have become Ron DeSantis disciples.

I know a family who moved there, friendly but dim and a little selfish. But they’re in a religion that acts cult-like so they were a little different before they moved. Not like “Florida man” different, just their religion is odd.

Yes, I know people who've moved to FL. They are all liberals.

I know 2 Jewish families (both liberal) and 2 Christian/not very religious families (1 R 1 D). Think: 40/50 something UMC/affluent with kids.

I’ve always known elderly retirees who move to FL. It’s been a thing for decades.

As crime continues to escalate and taxes continue to climb, people will look for other options. FL has gated communities.

I know people who have moved to FL. Who doesn't? One moved there many years ago for the "business friendly" climate. That person has gone full FL man, but was always an R. A liberal friend moved down and didn't pay attention to the pockets of Rs so bought in the wrong place (ended up selling and leaving FL). Another person is on the cusp of moving down because (believe it or not) their child (and grandchild) are moving there. They are keeping their house here however. They are excited about gaming their taxes, but honestly I think that's really oversold considering the costs of going back and forth, maintaining two places, insurance, etc.
