No, most reasonable people do not.
The far left does. The far left seems to own the Democratic Party today.

Please explain to me what the problem with Schumer's comments are. If you are opposed to a two state solution, then what do you see as an alternative that isn't one side or the other eradicating completely?

Lots of people would say a primary obstacle is settlers stealing land with impunity, but Schumer doesn't seem to care about that.

A two state solution usually implies Gaza and the west bank. So no, I disagree with you.

And anyone who looks at a map can see that settlers in the West Bank have made a two state solution impossible

At a large pro-Palestinian student and faculty protest at Columbia University in New York City on Friday, two Zionists sprayed students with something resembling a chemical weapon called “Skunk.” Both individuals, who were wearing fake keffiyehs, have been identified as Columbia General Studies students and former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers.

The attack took place during an event—“Hands off Yemen and Gaza! No more tuition for the war machine”—that was organized by the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) chapters at Columbia University outside the Low Library. Despite freezing temperatures and a systematic campaign of intimidation targeting opponents of the state policy of genocide in Gaza, the protest drew around 300 participants. ..

.. A Columbia student present at the protest told the World Socialist Web Site, “The people who did this were Columbia students who served in the IDF. This was premeditated and done with the aim to hurt students. Columbia needs to take immediate action. This behavior is unacceptable on a college campus.”

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2024/01/22/lfsy-j22.html

Truth comes out. These “students” or really IDF thugs need their identity and address release to the public. Hopefully Columbia will expel these thugs and band anyone who is involved with the IDF. These people are terrorists. Could you imagine what would have happened if Palestinians had did this?

Give me a break. There is SO much dubious info in this article - starting with the site itself, "World Socialist Web Site" - a far left tankie propaganda rag.

And then it says PROTESTERS WERE ATTACKED!!!!1!!! - ehh sounds like someone used skunk spray, so what. The protesters in Lafayette Square suffered far worse treatment when Trump wanted to have his bible photo op.
And then it claims it was done by "two former IDF soldiers" - ehh unnamed suspects, and with no source of this alleged info... and given that all Israelis are, unless specifically exempted, are required to serve that means most adult Israelis are "former IDF soldiers" making that label pretty meaningless in context even if it turned out to be true.
And then it says "wearing fake keffiyehs" - uhhhhwhat? There's no such thing as a "fake keffiyeh" - a keffiyeh is a keffiyeh, they are cheap and readily available and anyone can buy and wear one..
... and so on... That article is a total joke.

The attack cannot be trivialized. If you don't like WSWS, there are plenty of other sources that report the same information. The "fake keffiyehs" means the IDF students slyly used a disguise to get close to the targeted students. "Skunk" doesn't just smell bad; it is a chemical weapon that can make people sick. Several students had to go to the hospital, and some complained of long-lasting effects. Obviously, violence of this sort is unacceptable, and the aggressors need to be disciplined. Two of the culprits have been identified as former IDF soldiers who are taking General Studies classes.

Sorry, but that didn't substantively change anything relative to my prior rebuttal of the WSWS article. Don't bother trying again.

DP

That's the problem, though - nobody cares about your dismissal of this terrorism as "no big deal". It's terrorism. Full stop. Do no pass go, do not collect $200.00 - and whomever these terrorists are, they should be summarily dismissed from Columbia or whatever school they attend, and deported to wherever. That's what you'd call for if the tables were turned, right?

Undoubtedly, you were front and center losing your shite during the "Great Library Invasion of 2023", so yeah, your opinion regarding what constitutes conduct worthy of outrage and what doesn't is irrelevant. You had 75 years to prove to observers that the history of hostility toward you (that you prattle on about incessantly) was undeserved, but all you seem to have done during that time has been to justify why some people just don't like you BASED ON YOUR CONDUCT.

So you'd be perfectly happy if former Palestinian militants wearing yarmulkes sprayed you with a chemical weapon that sent you to the hospital with vomiting, skin rashes, temporary blindness, a terrible headache, and difficulty breathing? You'd be a good sport about the whole thing and deny being attacked? You'd grin and bear it because protestors were treated worse at Lafayette Square? There wouldn't be a squeak out of you about antisemitic violence? OK. Would you mind if I sprayed you with skunk to see how this works out? Thanks. It'll be an interesting experiment.

Ironic quotes given that Israel has been using OUR money to interfere in US elections for decades.

NATIONAL HARBOR, MARYLAND – This week, approximately 1,600 foot soldiers from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) congregated inside the garish yet functional Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, for the PAC’s annual policy conference. It took place this year amid Israel’s bloody war in Gaza, which has left at least 30,000 Palestinians dead and is turning into a critical wedge issue in the 2024 elections…

…In past years, the conference has been a media spectacle, with a widely disseminated lineup of powerful speakers to showcase AIPAC’s enduring political influence. This year, however, it was locked down, with few social media posts and broadcast speeches, largely because of the threat of disruptions from anti-war protests. The goal of this year’s low-key gathering was to fire up attendees for AIPAC’s 2024 agenda, before sending them off to Capitol Hill to strong-arm Congress on supporting Israel.

The Prospect has obtained documents from the conference that preview the PAC’s lobbying blitz on Capitol Hill this week. The documents reveal AIPAC’s legislative strategy and the talking points it will use to support an unconditional $14 billion military funding package that has thus far been held up, among other policy changes. They also include numerous positions on aspects of the U.S. response to the war that have not previously been made public, from abolishing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to opposing recent restrictions imposed by the Biden administration on Israeli settlers. There is no mention of a two-state solution.

“This is damning evidence that AIPAC is completely aligned with the far right of the Israeli government even as tensions emerge between Netanyahu and the Biden administration,” said Raed Jarrar, advocacy director at Democracy for the Arab World Now.

Though many of the policy positions are consistent with AIPAC’s past advocacy, this trove of files offers a rare glimpse into the conversations the PAC holds with members of Congress behind closed doors, and the arguments it’s deploying.

Wonder if any Americans will be heard over AIPAC demands?

Remember only 12,000 new housing units have been approved in the past year. So Biden and the US is totally behind the settlements.

Exactly. Exactly. STFU traitors here in the U.S. whose allegiance isn’t 100% with America. Literally - STFU, nobody cares what you think at this point in history.

Now we have douchebags like Ari Fleischer and the marcom dipshits in Likud running their mouths about democracy. These clowns wouldn’t recognize a democracy if it hit them in the mouth, of course.

AIPAC has 3 lobbyists for every member of the US Congress. No wonder we the people have no say.
