Tell me about your induction cooktop

Especially if you are a serious cook, used to cooking with gas, and cook with a wok at least sometimes.

This will be our first and probably last kitchen reno and I want to get it right. Am sold on the environmental advantage of induction but, after 50 years of cooking, not entirely eager to lean new tricks (and really skeptical of “smart” cooking appliances — but that’s from both a control issue (probably not a problem wrt induction) and also fear of expensive repair/supply chain problems if/when you have to replace the brains of the appliance — eg the analog half of my wall oven has outlived the digital half by about 5 years at this point.

Not worried about having to buy new pans. Learning curve and performance are my concerns.

I love mine! The biggest stress I have is ensuring no one scratches the glass cooktop. Lol. It's easy to adjust the heat. It took me forever to get it (because of the supply chain issues), but I think all that has been worked out now. I got mine in June and I'm very satisfied with it. I have the GE Cafe induction range. I bought it from Ferguson and they ensured I had the right voltage, etc. to run it.

Love it. I have 4 gas burners and 2 induction and use the induction 99 percent of the time. Only use gas if I already have something on induction. Induction is still able to seat and everything else. My le creuset and most other pans work on it.

We love it. Husband is a big cook and has had no complaints. We have the ge cafe one so it has actual knobs which I really prefer to my parents which is touch to turn off and on.

It’s very easy to learn.

It’s great. Much better control of temps at all levels and faster heat ups.

Love my induction. I just had to replaced my Wolf with a Dacor and right after I saw the new Thermador and wish I had bought that instead. That one is really cool.

Is the heat consistent ?
The one portable I had seemed inconsistent then broke down.
