We have a rising 9th grader at the Academy of the Holy Cross and have been nothing but impressed with the Administration and the attention they have given our family. We heard from current families from our Catholic K-8 that they were attentive, personal, and great communicators, but want to reinforce this to a larger audience.
Admittedly, we are needy parents with a lot of questions and want to know that our daughter is correctly placed in her courses. Every question that we have had has been promptly answered by the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Scheduler. If more information is needed, they kindly reply what they were seeking and will respond when able. And they actually follow-up! They are open to conversations about placement and the process for seeking a new placement and why the original placement was suggested. My husband and I feel as if we are part of the process and they want to know our interests and concerns. This attention is no different than the outstanding service we received through the admissions process, where we honestly felt like the only family they were dealing with. After the pandemic-influenced middle school experience, we are so grateful to be entering a community that we already feel part of! |
| Bravo |
| Yow. I feel bad for the AHC admin. |
| I hope that comment made PP's tortured little soul feel better. |
| Good job! You have made yourself known to the administration as “those parents.” I love how you are bragging about questioning the class placements and being pushy. |

We had a great experience there a few years ago as this administration took over. Even before that when my oldest was there, they did a tremendous job handling a very difficult situation for one of DD’s close friends with compassion and confidentiality.
It may not have the visibility of Visi and SR but my daughters chose it because it has a variety of girls; something their K-8 bubble sorely lacked. |

| OP what are you comparing this to? If public middle school, then yes, most private school admins will be responsive to families who pay tuition. |
They respond quickly in the hopes you'll calm down at some point. |
| Wow |
| Lol |
| My DD went there and I feel the same. But not sure why you felt the need to post. All it will do is bring out the nay-sayers |
Sadly, this is true about the nay-sayers. I've found so many of the people on here don't want to hear anything good about Catholic schools I guess because it doesn't fit their perception. And they really don't want to hear anything positive about schools that are not "it" schools! Personally, I'm thrilled you've had a good experience and don't mind the nasties saying you've targeted yourself. They may find it hard to believe, but there are some schools with genuinely kind, helpful, and non-judgmental staff (and families.) I ran into two faculty members from AHC over the summer and got the warmest reception. My daughter graduated years ago but they remembered us well. I wish your daughter well and hope she feels at home there. I truly believe that you find what you seek - if you look for drama you will see it, but if you're looking for good people you will see them all around you too. |
YES! All of this^. |
