Any advice re cooking crab legs

Anonymous
Looking for advice re the best way to steam snow crab myself. I was planning on buying some from Costco, if they have them.
I tried an Alton Brown method in the microwave and it was not good.

If there's a better place in Nova, let me know.

You mean the fully cooked snow crab clusters? Just reheat them in a big steamer pot for 10 minutes, or 5 if thawed.

They end up just being tasteless when I do them this way.

Throw them in a large pan with sides and cook in oven at 250 until hot.

I take a really big stock pot and put in some beer, water and/or chicken stock, plenty of old bay, lemon juice or lemon zest, salt/pepper, whatever else seems like it would blend in well with the flavors. I usually have about two inches on liquid in the bottom of the pot (which is probably 10-12 inches tall). Then I use my self-MacGuyvered method of tying together some clusters with kitchen string and suspending them over the boiling liquid with the lid on, and steam them that way for maybe 5-10 minutes, depending on how big of a cluster. This is just to reheat the ones I buy already cooked from the grocery seafood section, but I don't see why it wouldn't work on uncooked crab legs, just steam for longer.
