Stumbled across this study which is quite interesting if you dig into the many graphs. It looked at level of trust among various groups of people. If you want to see it all, you have to provide name and email and then you can download the powerpoint. https://morningconsult.com/2022/08/02/most-trusted-universities-gaps-public-trust/

Here are a few of the slides from the powerpoint. There are many more if you take the trouble to download the slides.

Brand awareness study. So, we are supposed to believe that Johns Hopkins is the Harvard of the Northeast, and that JHU is the Harvard of the South, and that JHU is the Harvard of the Midwest---yet Harvard's brand awareness is not among the top 5 universities in the Northeast ?

I definitely trust JH when I need a doctor for something complicated.

Most trusted by employer sound like the most important ranking of all.

They are the ones who paying for the outcome.
They would in fact pay most close attention and have very objective evaluation of the colleges.

I write about this a long time ago so it’s interesting to see. A lot of why Harvar dis popular is because it’s old and has brand awareness. Under the hood, it’s not even as good as U of Binghamton or Syracuse in some areas.

Yale produces a lot of terrible people like Ted Cruz. Yay?

I don't know. These particular rankings aren't about quality or prestige and people's perceptions are what they are regardless of reality. And the inclusion of perceptions of anti-higher education Republicans would of course make for some interesting results.

I guess if I ever have a policy issue or internationally problem I’d call them for that too.
