| DS has 4.0W. 8APs. 28 ACT. (Hispanic FWIW) Wants medium to larger school in south (including Texas). Political Science as Major. Good ECs focused on public service- congressional internship, Eagle Scout, consistent volunteer work) Was thinking UGA but hearing it is harder to get into. Likes state school feel but so many state schools are harder to get into from OOS. Need options. |
| UF....again it will be hard to get into. |
| ECU, Coastal Carolina, Clemson, FAU, Auburn, Bama, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Houston |
OP's stats are much better than ECU or Costal Carolina. Both of those schools are viewed locally as safeties |
NP. Those would be good safeties for her. Houston and Flu could also be added to safety category. The rest of list looks good. |
| FAU not Flu** |
|
U of FLA
Georgia Clemson Wake Forest UNC Smaller College of Charleston Vanderbilt (reach with 28 ACT) Davidson The ACT. Is a little low Maybe South Carolina, auburn, nc state, |
| UofSC and FSU are in their respective state capitals. |
UNC, Vanderbilt and Wake are way out of reach. |
|
Honors College at the College of Charleston.
Florida State University. Wake Forest University |
As PP said...I answered the question a list of medium to large Southern Universities with a variety of admission standards that's how people create a sensible list. OP, Coastal Carolina also has rolling admission which makes it an even better choice for a safety. |
If Wake Forest University is test optional, then it is well within reach for the OP's student. Do we know which state the OP's student lives ? |
| Elon |
OP. Virginia. And UVA out of reach but DS loved it. DS was lukewarm to JMU. We as parents liked W&M but also would be a big reach and not big school enough feel for DS. |
With those stats Wake is a reach. |
