| Next week I’ll be driving 8-9 hours straight (and returning four days later!). I’m looking for some compelling, in-depth podcasts on honestly anything. I’m into politics, economics, new age stuff, esoterica, biographical/human interest things - pretty broad range of interests (but not into true crime). Would love your suggestions, thank you! |

This Podcast Will Kill You! Or The Emily Show.
If you want fiction, Alice Isn’t Dead or Wolf 360. |

I'm a simple lady, so these probably are things you already listen to, but I have similar interests and my favorites are
Hidden Brain Freakonomics This American Life A combination of those three has gotten me through many 13 hour road trips |
| How I Built This |
|
Stuff you missed in history class
The Economist Macro Voices Spooked |
|
My favorites are all book recaps and movie recaps. Pick your genre or favorite series, there is a recap podcast.
Pods that aren't recaps: Beyond the Breakers (shipwrecks) Garden Plots with Skeletor You're Wrong About |
|
If you'd consider dabbling in true crime: In the Dark from APM reports. Specifically, season 2. The case went to the supreme court. It's really well reported and a very interesting and compelling story. I believe they won a Peabody award for it.
Also agree with Freakanomics, This American Life, and I'd like to add Code Switch, icymi, Normal Gossip, the Line, 9/12, Running from Cops (those last 3 are Dan Taberski - he is great). Have fun! |

| I downloaded a bunch of Bill Nye podcasts for a long drive with my 11 year old son and I enjoyed them so much, I ended up listening to a bunch more on the return solo drive. |

Band of Brothers, book on tape
Highly recommend. I listened to this from Florida to Maryland in the car. |
|
The Dream - about MLMs, by Jane Marie, a TAL alum
Finding Fred - about Mr. Rogers Dead Eyes - young actor was fired by Tom Hanks from bit part on Band of Brothers. Great exploration on themes of rejection and how we let it define us. |
| Believed - this is the story of how Larry Nassar got away with abusing the gymnasts. |
I love You’re Wrong About, pre-Michael’s departure though. I find it less enjoyable after he left. |
| What have you already listened to and enjoyed? The original Slow Burn on Watergate and Bag Man on Spiro Agnew are old but incredibly good. |
