| If you yourself are wealthy, but your parents are destitute, would you help them apply for benefits so they don’t have to rely on your resources? |
| Without hesitation. |
| I'd help them with my money |
Why not put them on welfare and supplement with your own? |
If they want to get it and ask for my help, yeah, sure. But only if. |
| A little different, but reminds me of a time I was in Target years ago, and the gentleman ahead of me reached into his wallet to pull out hit EBT card, but had to pass a seriously fat stack of hundreds to get it. |
| I'm currently helping my mother do just that, and my net worth is $8 million. I also have several siblings with plenty of money. I have no problem with any of this. It's not a moral issue. |
This. The insurance piece is especially important. |
Could be rent money…. People on EBT card work so maybe cash the check |
| I would do both, but I'll say that if your parent has a difficult time keeping track of documents and you live far away, it's easier to just help them once in a while. |
Actually it is, though perhaps not in the way you think. |
Oh absolutely. The government passed laws saying that I need to pay these heavy taxes to provide for those that need a safety net. So I am going help my relatives take full advantage of the resources that I helped pay for. |
Actually what? |
| Yes and I did. We are not wealthy but have what we need but could not afford to help without help. We pay taxes for services for when we need them. |
What way are you thinking? |
