Can someone tell me why I felt the rush of endorphins after this?
If I walk/run on the treadmill at home or do my step machine, I don't always feel a rush of endorphins afterwards. Today for about an hour and a half I worked with my DH in the garage putting up hooks and handing him beach chairs, kids helmets, scooters, wagon, etc.. for him to hang up. I pushed a few boxes around, gathered some garbage, lifted several scooters and organized the heck out of the garage. Afterwards I felt this cool, rush of endorphins. We just moved so I have been lifting heavy boxes, organizing everything in the house. Why was this activity in particular so satisifying and physically why did I feel so good afterwards? Was it because I had DH's help and we worked twice as fast? I'm just pondering. |
It's the love hormone. You enjoyed nesting with your mate. We're animals, after all. Enjoy! |
I think it’s because it was meaningful and productive work instead of the “pretend” work that is working out. I get this feeling from working hard in the yard. It satisfies you physically, mentally, and probably emotionally. |
+1 Satisfying to see the immediate improvement after the hard work. |
