I need a job with no collaboration

What jobs or fields are best for individual contributors? No client/sales meetings, no stand ups, no in-person groups, just focused requirements on a monthly/quarterly basis.

I have a MPA if it matters.

I’m comfortable with $135-$165K. 8 years prior project management experience.

Any thoughts on intelligence research as a more solitary career?

Fiction writer. Carpenter. Artist. Typesetter. Animator. Seamstress. Mechanic There are lots of options here. Key thing is that you probably would need to work for someone, rather than own your own business, since the latter tends to involve lots of meeting with customers and such.

OP here - let me clarify. Something in the federal government or as a private consultant.

Where are the jobs where they stuck you in a basement next to a filing cabinet (before WFH) for five years unless a random comet is hitting the west coast and they need a report?

So you want to not work and still make 6 figures?

Who says I don’t want to work? Being a solo research scientist who only presents annually is still work?

I mostly just don’t have an interest in BS social chatter.

Work for a federal contractor in their contacts, purchasing or finance department.

Contract or Subcontract Closeout
Invoicing
Purchase Order processing
Audit readiness / quality control reporting

None of these jobs will be in your target salary range. If you want to make over $100k, you will be leading a team.

I supervise people with jobs like that. They make $60-80k.

Police patrol officer. You're alone in your vehicle most of the time, and when you interact with people it's usually a relatively brief exchange. You're not going to easily make over $100K in most departments, though, unless you move into supervisory roles which will necessarily involve more human interactions.

I'm a researcher at an employee benefits company. I am largely overhead though; I don't do much client billing. I am part time, but my FTE base salary is maybe about 125K, with a bonus in the spring. I do too much "group" work right now, but still am a largely solo worker and set my own schedule. I have been WFH from prior to March 2020.

We have public policy and legislative staff to keep up with legal & legislative changes, which are numerous right now.

I know you have an MPA -- would a "legislative research job" be interesting?

You did. “ Where are the jobs where they stuck you in a basement next to a filing cabinet (before WFH) for five years unless a random comet is hitting the west coast and they need a report?” You said you want to just sit next to a filing cabinet unless they need you.
