I have never been seen anywhere close to my “appointment” time and I always show up on time. Why not just say sorry, walk-ins only, if they are unable to accommodate appointment times? All it does is set the wrong expectation and piss me off.
I agree - I hate it. Or tell me that it will be 30 minutes - don't have me sit in the chair and wait for 30 when you make me think it will be 5-10. I'll be more likely to come back and patronize you if you are reliable. |
Get a new salon then, my salon takes appointments and honors them and it's pretty hard to walk in these days as they are understaffed due to covid, etc.
My salon is always on time. You need a new salon.
Also, they don’t take walk-ins. |

Don't go to a cheap place in a strip mall and you won't have this problem.

Mine takes appointments and is within 5 minutes.

OP, this is so true. I never make appointments anymore and always just walk in. They either take me immediately or I wind up waiting the same as I would if I had an appointment. Walk-in is the way to go.
My salon doesn’t open until 10 am on weekends but let’s me come in at 8:30. Later in the day, they run so far behind.
What I hate is going with another person, even with appointments, and the shop starting one while making the other person wait. The idea is to do it at the same time.
I never believe them when they say "Can you wait a few minutes." It's always an hour.
I don’t have this problem. Find a new salon or start tipping more.
