Is that forum only for the opinions of believers? Many thoughtful but contradictory ideas deleted while the dogmatic ones remain.
It’s fine if that is the rule, I respect your right to run as you see fit. Just let us know so we do not spend time creating thoughtful posts just to have them deleted. Have a great weekend. |
| I’m not Jeff, but your reference to “thoughtful” non-believers versus “dogmatic” believers leaves no doubt that you frequent that board to troll believers. I’d suggest you get your kicks elsewhere. |

The religious posters have continually complained about self-described atheists disrupting threads. But, the thread about someone's prayer being answered was simply incredible. Why couldn't you folks simply let someone enjoy their moment? Do you really think it is "thoughtful" to totally piss all over someone?
Stick to threads in which your ideas are welcome. Don't be a jerk. That shouldn't be so difficult. |

"Stick to threads in which your ideas are welcome". Heard loud and clear and will obey even though I don't like it. Sorry about that. I was not the only one replying of course. I did not think I was being a jerk, and I still don't, but so be it.
I also apologize for not knowing dogmatic was a pejorative. I'm still not sure why that is. But if that also offends I will not use that word to describe believer's posts. Can you suggest an alternative phrase? Being sincere on all points here. |
The definition of dogmatic:
I am going to guess that I don't need to define arrogant or imperious. |
To wit, I reported a post in that thread that stated, with no further elaboration: “why are religious people so stupid??” I don’t really know what the person who wrote that gained… do they feel better? Smarter? There are plenty of religious people of almost any religion who are wildly intelligent, more intelligent than you. It seems amazing to me that this isn’t immediately obvious. |
I certainly did not post that, and wouldn't. I don't know any non-believer who thinks that is an effective approach. I believe it is likely that a troll posted that to derail the thread for reasons that would require speculation to guess.
That is clearly the non-religious and vernacular one of the several definitions you offered, and not applicable. Words can have many meanings and I clearly did not use it in the non-religious context. I appreciate the feedback and we need not continue here as this forum is not for discussion. Have a good weekend. |
You sound like an ass. |
Truly!! Op, that thread was not for your opinion. Op was happy/thankful and sharing with others who share that belief. Nobody was asking for your opinion. I sometimes roll my eyes at those posts whether here or not. I keep my opinion to myself though. |

Now there’s a new thread proclaiming there is “certainly no God.”
I don’t get why people can’t just say they don’t believe in God, and have their beliefs, and not say hey God doesn’t exist, and insult and void everyone else’s beliefs? There are two separate and distinct threads about not believing in God now. One asks why posters don’t believe in God. The newest one asks for posters to celebrate that God doesn’t exist. Nothing like openly stating that God doesn’t exist and insulting and denigrating everyone who does believe in God. |
Can’t you just avoid that thread? In the same way you want non-believers to stay out of the threads for people who do believe? |
This is the solution. |
non-believers do not stay out of threads for believers, at all. they argue every single thread that religious people are evil, stupid, don’t believe in science, are racist, bigoted, and ignorant. |
So report those posts, and they’ll be removed. But agnostics and atheists should have a space to talk about their beliefs as well. |
