Is there anything wrong with eating an entire jar of pickles?

Anonymous
Sometimes I just can't help myself. I really love pickles - especially the Claussen brand. It's not uncommon for me to finish an entire jar in a 24 hour period.
#1 - is something wrong with me?
#2 - is it unhealthy to over do it on pickles?

That's a lot of salt.

Lots of salt. And vinegar.

The salt content and preservatives can be high if you eat a whole jar but other than that I’ve done it many times and nothing bad happened. Just buy natural/organic pickles with less preservatives / colors and drink lots of water and limit salt intake for rest of day and next day. I wouldn’t do this daily but going all in on a jar once a week or whatever isn’t going to kill you.

I guess it depends on how often you do this? Just make sure you drink a lot of water.

You might try Trader Joe's pickle popcorn, if they ever have it in stocks again.

If your blood pressure is fine then no worries. I do the same myself and I assume it’s my body craving salt. Never given me heartburn.

Claussen! My hangover cure. I love the halves more than the spears. I also drink the juice.

Sooooo much sodium in one sitting. Holy crap.

Yeah, too much sodium, even if your blood pressure is normally fine.

I used to do this but recently branched out to olives.

I could easily eat that many pickles too. I frequently crave salty foods. I’ve drank sips of the bring water they are in as well.
