Towson University

I graduated from Towson about 15 years ago and have been steadily employed since then. I have never had difficulty finding a job or networking. I make just over $100k and enjoy my career.

I know it’s not an Ivy League school, but I thought I got a pretty good education and really made some great friends and contacts.


What is the perception of this school? I hope people will consider it as a good and affordable college option despite it not being a top rated school.

I know a number of kids who currently and in the recent past go/went to Towson. They were all very happy. That is the only in state option my daughter is considering and I would be very happy if that were her choice.

I have two family members that are Towson graduates, we think it's a great school.

Dd there for education now and it’s been great. Not sure why it doesn’t get more love in this board. She joined a sorority and the downtown area is fun. A true college experience. Yes I know it’s not high ranked and outside the dmv people have never heard of it. But in state was important to us for $ and she didn’t have the grades for UMD.

I went there for grad school back in the late 90s and it was the only in state school my daughter considered. The campus is beautiful and my daughter felt it was like a little town on its town on its own. She ended up deciding to attend a private school out of state.

I know, I could be making more if I switched to a similar career. But the point is I’m making a still respectable salary and enjoying my job

I went to a "higher ranked" school and it took longer than 15 years for me to get to 100k.

DD is looking at Towson (and UMBC and College Park), and I'd be happy if she went to any of them.

I’m 20 years into my career and I make far less than $100K. I’m a very impressive teacher and am very proud of what I’ve accomplished so far in my career.
