Never ending ballot counts.

How long can this Ballot count possibly take? Are they only counting for 30 mins a day?
Anonymous
Why don’t you watch live to see what they do? They are working their backsides off, well over 8 hours a day.

Democrats gleefully pointing to Hogan’s veto to cover up for their incompetently run administrative state.

If it’s taking too long, you should have volunteered. It’s all volunteers you know. One democrat and one republican for each 50 ballots.

So the board of elections should have broken the law and started counted earlier than permitted?

Agree! It might not be too late to volunteer OP!

Op here and I forgot they were volunteers. So kudos to them! However, my opinion still stands. It’s taking much longer than I expected. Growing up we used to have the election results the day after.

Yes OP, have you been living under a rock? The pandemic has vastly increased the number of mail-in ballots and it takes a while to count them. If you vote in early voting or on election day each voter scans their own ballot. With mail in the volunteers have a lot more steps they have to take.

Mail-in ballots weren't a thing when you were growing up.

Mail in ballots have always been a thing. They were called “Absentee Ballots”. The difference between now and then is that you typically needed a reason as to why you could not vote in person to request one.

Go volunteer OP. Lots of people cast absentee ballots this year because of Covid and because of the election timing...and they weren't allowed to start counting until Thursday after the election.

Actually they were, different pp here, but I lived in a state where they started counting them right after the cast ballots.

That’s nice. Without knowing where you grew up, I’ll guess that there were probably a smaller number of ballots to be counted, and/or that the elections weren’t close, so that the results were “known” even though all of the ballots weren’t actually counted yet.

Not OP, but after receiving countless "please volunteer" emails from the Board of Elections last year, I went through hours of tedious training, only to be told, "thanks, we have enough volunteers" at the end.

Will NEVER try to help that incompetent group again
