Zero top 25 restaurants in the world in the US. What happened to Amerian creativity in the kitchen?

This is pathetic:

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/worlds-50-best-restaurants-2022/index.html

The US had a renaissance in food/dining at the turn of the century, but lately things have gone down hill. Why is the US no longer producing top chefs and restaurants? For country that supposedly prides itself on food, how are we this bad? We seem to have hit a dark age for American fine dining.

Also, kind of shocking Peru has TWO top 25 restaurants while the US has zero.

1. This is just one organization giving a list. It's not Michelin, or any other equally reputable organization. It's sponsored by Italian water companies.

2. "Restaurants are only permitted to scoop the awards' top prize once, after which they're entered into a separate "Best of the Best" program. Members of that elite group include Geranium's Copenhagen neighbor Noma, as well as New York's Eleven Madison Park, The Fat Duck near London, Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, and Mirazur in Menton, France." - CNN

Eh. Many of the best dishes are found in restaurants that will never make lists like this. List of this sort might not be the best way to assess “Creativity “

There are two in the top 50. I’d say we’re doing ok.

France, basically a country defined by fine dining doesnt show up until 22. I know people follow this list, but its impossible to rank across the world.
