NP. C of C is a better school academically. Not everyone turns every life decision into a political statement. Can you say - cut off your nose to spite your face?

If that is true, that is a recent reversal.

They're more similar than different. UNCW is a bit bigger; CofC is a bit wilder. I don't know that I'd say either is a stronger school than the other; they each have specific areas of strength.

For what major? I’d save the money and go uncw. If they have a good gpa from either they’ll get into decent grad schools.

I have a child at uncw and another that considered CofC. Any specific questions?

C of C. I wanted to go there for years and then ended up somewhere else. I love the city and the area. Nothing and nowhere is perfect, but I'd be glad to have DC attend C of C if it was right for them.

DD got into both and chose CofC for the location (Charleston is sooo nice) and they gave her a really nice scholarship.

i understand the attraction to both schools.

Isn't UNCW well respected for marine biology and related subjects ? Access to the Outer Banks ?

The Honors College at the College of Charleston is fine & comes with a partial merit scholarship award--if I recall correctly.

UNCW has super easy access to the Atlantic Ocean, but not the Outer Banks (which are a 4+ hour drive away). It also has a good Honors College.

Neither of these schools are nationally known. Choose whichever one your kid likes better.
