Just a random thought. Austin has a big well known book festival every fall where authors come together, have q&as with writers and audiences. I’ve always wondered why Jen doesn’t participate in her own home town book festival. It was the same with Rachel Hollis, they “tour” everywhere else. I speculate the Texas Book festival organizers don’t think of them as real writers and Jen on some level knows she doesn’t cut it.

Flash in the pan pop memoirists like Jen Hatmaker are embarrassing in the publishing world. Tolerated cause they keep the lights on but resented in that what they churn out to the masses is idiotic.

I just had a flashback to Jen's twitter feed while they were going through the adoption process. She said something like "we can't wait to have two new brown punkin faces at our table!" I thought it was beyond odd but as I was a fangirl in that moment, I just accepted it. I'm sure she would deny or be horrified at seeing it. But she's always been weird.

And take note- that text exchange speaks a lot about her parenting. But if we learned anything from her dear father, do NOT over-praise your kids all the time. Or you will end up with a clueless narcissist. Like a PP noted, mean girls raise mean girls.

And the whole fangirling over Ina Garten is cringe. The idea of any grownass woman getting that giddy over another grownass woman is silly.

I like Ina, I liked her show a lot, and still I couldn’t agree more with this comment ^^^^. I’m tempted to say Jen acts like a teenager, but my teen daughters are way more mature/chill than this. And its not just one special celebrity she is giddy over - she does this over and over again. Next she’ll be bowing “i’m not worthy, I’m not worthy” like Wayne and Garth.

I don't have anything against Ina at all but even if it was Martha Stewart or Joanna Gaines, I wouldn't be acting like that. It's what has stopped her podcast from elevating. She's unprofessional and she acts unprofessional and for the life of me, I can't understand what made her think "I need a change so let me bring on my frumpy, boring white lady friend who has no media skills or personality."

Nah I think he commented because ina garten is a bigger deal than most of her guests and she didn't want to look lame. I'm sure she or someone from her "team" asked him to do it and he did. he knows mama pays the bills
