How is this happening more than 2 years into this?
Using the United app and their Travel-Ready center, it states that all travels 12 years and older require booster before arrival to be considered fully vaccinated. But they link to the French Ministry of Interior website which states "Since 1 February 2022, in order for their vaccination schedule to continue to be recognized as complete, persons aged 18 years or older wishing to enter French territory must have received a booster dose of messenger RNA vaccine no later than nine months after receiving the last mandatory dose." https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/covid-19-international-travel Which is it? And if it actually is 18 what happens when you upload vaccination record to the United Travel-Ready Center portal and it only has 2 doses for kids aged 12-17? They're going to reject it? |
| Huh. I guess I can’t go to France since I got my booster in October and am under fifty and thus can’t get another booster |
Ha! DP and this was my exact reaction. There are apparently a lot of people ineligible to travel to France. |
No, you're wrong. You just need to show that you received a booster shot within 9 months of your 2nd dose of Moderna/Pfizer. You're fine to go to France. |
This is correct. The wording is a little weird. Here's what it means: 1. If you have only had a primary series (1 for J&J or 2 for Moderna/Pfizer), you are only valid to travel to France if it's let's than 9 months since your second shot. 2. If you have had a Pfizer/Moderna booster at ANY time, you are good Basically they are saying you have to be boosted to enter if your original series is too old. But the date of the booster is irrelevant as long as you got it. |
| No idea, OP, but I just got back from France yesterday and at no time was I ever asked about vaccination status. Nothing at the airport, nothing at train stations, nothing when renting a car. The French are truly over Covid. It's fabulous! |
They don't care. no one is going to check. |
United will to give you your boarding pass. After that yes I doubt there will be any checks. |
The entirety of Europe is over Covid. I just got back from Spain, Portugal and the UK this week so I know what I am talking about. The only place still freaking out about testing, masks and vaccines is here in the DMV. ITS TIME TO MOVE ON PEOPLE. |
And did you have to upload proof of vaccine to the airline? |
PP, don’t rely on the airlines to give proper info, always go directly to the specific country website. Spain has a website for self attesting, Portugal and UK don’t care. Make copies of your vaccine card and keep it with your passport. The only time I was asked for it was return to my own country. Thanks Joe. |
I am in FRANCE now, about to head to the UK. I heard on the news tonight that 1/2 million people tested positive for COVID in the UK in the past WEEK. 1/18 in Scotland, 1/30 in England. That is what happens when you decide you are done with COVID, but it is not done with you. Who wants to get sick (or worse) on vacation???? |
And yet they have learned to live with it while you are freaking out. Everyone is getting it- multiple times. Learn to live with it and stop imposing your fears into everything Covid. PS., the areas mentioned have ZERO plans to reimpose testing, masks or all the draconian ideas floating through your brain right now. |
US citizens don't need proof of vaccination to enter the US. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html "Required for non-U.S. citizen, nonimmigrant passengers arriving from a foreign country to the United States by air" |
