| We have a trip to Maui planned at the end of the month and would like to insure our trip in case we get covid before/during or any other illness! Does anyone have any recommendations of affordable and comprehensive travel insurance? TIA |

| I haven’t had anything beyond small claims but so far Allianz has been good. They were recommended by my posh travel planner for my winter trip (a large luxury travel company) so i assume they’re fairly reliable. |
Do any of the insurers actively help you get on another flight if your own flight has problems, as opposed to having an exclusion or just reimbursing you after you file a claim? |
For service like that, you should book through a travel agent. |
Meaning, no, a travel insurance company wouldn't deal with rebooking. They reimburse after a claim, backed up by documents. |
| The problem is so few people ever have to make a claim on travel insurance. So all the reviews are like “great price, so easy to book!” but you have no idea what will happen if you actually need to make a claim. |
| We’re traveling by car but have a multi-thousand dollar trip planned. I read a Forbes article about companies that covered Covid-related cancellations and itinerary changes. I called Nationwide on Sunday and actually got a person who was patient with my questions and the price was reasonable so I went with them. I have no idea how easy or hard their claims process is if needed. |
