| One of my kids is taking a class where films are analyzed. Nightmare on elm street needs to be analyzed with another slasher movie. Trying to find one to suggest that’s got enough meat to it that makes analyzing it interesting. Thanks! |

In grad school for MSW, we had to watch Halloween to analyze the M Myers childhood scenes.
I don't know the Nightmare films so I don't know how comparable that would be. |
| Psycho |
| Personally I would never have guessed you’d find Freddy Kruger movies in the “slasher with depth” category, so I’ll suggest Carrie. |
| What about Scream since it plays with the genre |
| Train to Busan |
This looks perfect. Is it a slasher or just horror? |
| Slasher: “ slasher film is a genre of horror films involving a killer stalking and murdering a group of people, usually by use of bladed tools.” |
It’s a zombie horror film. |

Sleepaway Camp! I did a 20 page paper on it in college!
Black Christmas is also very good (the original one) for more plot and depth. As a PP mentioned, the original Halloween is great too. |
Yes! Sleep away camp with Angela is fantastic |
I will never forget Sleepaway Camp. |
| I don't know if Get Out qualifies as slasher (more horror/thriller, but there's a fair amount of killing), but there are SO many nuances to evaluate. |
Op here: I enjoyed this movie a lot and I’m not a typical horror movie person. I don’t think it’s a slasher movie. (It’s a requirement of the assignment). |
| Would Saw count as a slasher movie? |
