Daycare tuition, what is the norm in DC?

We have just moved from California and looking for a daycare/nanny option for our toddler.
How much do you guys pay for a daycare (say NW DC)? How much cheaper it is compared to a full time nanny? Thank you for your time

NoVa is cheaper than DC proper, but I'm in a close-in Virginia suburb and pay $1650/mo for one toddler.

I pay $2200 now, but it will go up in September ($2300), 1:4 ratio, 8-5, meals are included

I pay 1850 for a two year old in NW DC. 7:30 am - 6:00 pm.

This sounds like what I paid a few years ago…it was Easter Seals in Columbia Heights.

For our PK class in Chevy Chase (MD), we pay $2,200 per month (8-6 care).

$1000/2 weeks (infant), $850/2 weeks (preschooler) for a federal center in downtown DC. Ratios for infants room is somewhere between 1:2 and 1:3; preschoolers is 1:4 or 1:5. Open 8-5:30, meals included.

I’m the $1000/2 weeks poster — there’s a Goddard school near me that was $3000/month when I toured it pre pandemic — I thank my lucky stars I got off the wait list for the federal building. This isn’t insane for DC. Unfortunately.

Our daycare was $2300 until they move to the 2.5+ room, which is $1750.

which daycare? what does it mean 2.5+ room? pupil to teacher ratio?
