For Fathers Day I'd like to send my 80 year old FIL some baked goods as he lives alone now and he used to love when my mom baked things for him (cookies, pies, breads...).
I would appreciate any suggestions people have for other online stores that deliver some sort of baked goods that people love. Much appreciated. |

Cheryl's Cookies
|
| He'd probably like it best if you made one of your mom's recipes for him and mailed it yourself. That would be very thoughtful. |
Unfortunately my mother is in a memory care facility due to advanced dementia, so we don't have any recipes. I'm sure my wife would help if we did. |
That's so sad. Does he have a favorite dessert? Goldbelly has so many options from really good places, I'd try to send him a favorite from there. |
OP here. He likes pecan pie (and many other holiday pies), all sorts of cookies and things like banana and pumpkin breads. Thanks for the suggestion |
| I wonder if a bakery local to him would deliver? |
| Levain cookies are good and they have some banana bread type things too I think. I do like Cheryl's cookies as a generic gift to send. This is nice of you! |
Try this option. I've had Cheryl's as a gift over the holidays. They were OK and eaten over a month, certainly not a favorite. |

I have used the following:
- Harry & David - wonderful Peach & Berry pie, Apple Pie, Raspberry Cheesecake, Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake - Gold Belly - Ina Garten's Coconut Cake, Ina Garten's Chocolate Cake, Duff Goldman's Ultimate Chocolate Cake - Cheryl's Cookies - Dipped Mini-Donuts (apparently these are so addictive that one recipient told me I would go to jail for sending hero1n in the mail), Moose Munch - Wolferman's - any of the quiches, the breakfast pastry assortment with all the different English muffins Read the descriptions carefully. Some items arrive ready to go, some items need to arrive the day before to thaw, some items need to be baked from a frozen state, and some items need to be baked from a thawed state. All of the above have been sent multiple times to a wide variety of recipients from college students to people in their 80s or 90s, and I have been profusely thanked for each. FYI that Harry & David, Cheryl's and Wolferman's are all part of the same group so if you pay extra for their little bonus club then you get free shipping all year, and that has paid off big time for me. |

Walnut povitica from Strawberry Hills Bakers. I love pecan pie too, so I think this would be a great gift.
I love Levain’s cookies, but they’re not so great in the mail. The frozen version in the grocery stores are truly terrible, in my opinion. |
| We love Caroline’s Cakes. |
| Eli's cheesecake! They come frozen in slices, so he can pull out one slice at a time to eat. https://elicheesecake.com/ (ships from Goldbelly too but I have always ordered direct) |
| Zingermans coffee cakes! |

Red Truck Bakery in Virginia has amazing cakes.
