| Sabel Harris doesn't seem to be campaigning much and even skipped the pride parade yesterday. It seems like her only intention has been to split the anti-Nadeau vote with Salah Czapary. |
Your crazy conspiracy theory is not supported by facts. She entered the race before Czapary. |
| Last election democrats had a candidate change to independent to stave off any independent challenge. He ended up working for democrats. Nadeau is a weak candidate. Harris should drop. |
| She has zero chance and needs to drop out. All she's doing right now is helping Nadeau. Four more years if her would be disastrous for Ward 1. |
Your presumption that Harris votes would shift to Czapary is probably incorrect. She’s running in Nadeau’s poor constituent service and inactive role in the community. Policy wise she’s more moderate but still liberal. Czapary is running as an anti-crime Republican. So very different. A lot of Harris voters may like Nadeau’s policy but hate that she’s inattentive. |
|
Czapary is not a republican. Nadeau desperately wants that attack to stick since she has no record to run on. Not that having republicans on the council would actually be a bad thing. People like Carol Schwartz and David Catania were good watchdogs over city spending and with the downtown office market (and its tax revenues) in freefall---the council will need some realistic bean counters.
Salah is a moderate democrat. And he just got endorsed by former mayor Anthony Williams, who was the best mayor DC has had in my 25 years of living in the city. |
In a one party state like DC, of course no one can be a Republican. But in another place and another context, this guy could easily be running as a Republican. The problem is the branding. However his policies are pretty consistent with moderate Republicans in a lot of places. Look at Larry Hogan, for example. Again, nothing wrong with being a Republican, except if you want to get elected in DC. |
| I'm voting for Salah. I'm sick of Nadeau's good for nothing office. |
|
Same. She is a walking ideology spouter with no real understanding of anything.
If Salah is good for Washington Post, he’s good for me. Get the ATVs out. Oh, and he’s legit LGBTQ at times and places where it could have cost him to speak up. I’ve never seen such a thin bio as Brianna’s — look up the wiki article. |
| Czapary is the only choice that would improve anything. |
Exactly |
|
Anthony Williams was a moderate Republican.
- bowtie - fiscal hawk - flat tax - school vouchers - law and order - privatized health care |
The Washington Post's "editorial board" for DC dem endorsements is made up of one conservative woman who lives in Maryland. She consistently just endorses the most conservative candidate in any race, and doesn't even bother to interview all candidates running. |
| If the world were a just place there would be a statue of Anthony Williams in front of Wilson Bldg. and not Barry. Barry was a joke. |
Which is why they endorsed Anita Bonds… oh wait. |
