| Is it irredeemably trashy to bring boxed wine to a potluck? Are there any brands of boxed wine that are acceptable? I hate hauling glass bottles around. Boxes are just so darn convenient! |
| I think everyone will be happy with any kind of wine if not more. Guests will be busy eating and talking so no one remembers who brought what unless it was an elaborate dish like a five ft chocolate fondue fountain. Costco has good box wine at good prices. |
| I am totally good with boxed wine, but I own my trashiness. |
| One of my friends has a fancy box wine cover / dispenser. It makes me want to aim higher in life LOLOLOLOLOL |
| I don't mind boxed wine and I would bring it to a casual potluck w close friends if I had a good one. But if it was anyone I didn't know well I would bring bottles just bc I don't wanna be judged as cheap. |
I think everyone already knows I'm cheap!! Cardbordeaux it is! Thanks. |
I have tried a couple of boxed wines and they are pretty good. |
| Seriously? These replies surprise me. I would never bring boxed wine. |
| If you brought boxed wine to my potluck I would know you are my peep and would want to spend more time with you! |
| Black Box is just fine for a potluck. |
| Turning crappy wine into sangria is a much better option especially for summer. |
OP's problem is transport. Sangria is very hard to transport, definitely does not solve the problem. |
Bleh Sangria is way too sweet for my taste. Just sit the chilled Pinot Grigio or Rose down and let us be. |
| Franzia is a hard no but there are other ones that are a step up and are equal to cheaper bottled wine. I will sometimes buy them for camping or the pool when glass bottles aren't allowed. My rules is it has to have a grape variety on the box - it can't just be something like "crisp white". |

I served this to wine snobs and didn’t tell them it was box until later and they were pissed they couldn’t tell. Lol!
https://www.reversewinesnob.com/2014/10/the-best-box-wines-vina-borgia-garnacha.html I discovered it because we went to a state park that allowed no glass alcohol and I didn’t want beer. |
